Course Overview
Multi Pitch Rock Climbing can be both exciting and exhilarating allowing us to climb pitch after pitch of fantastic rock. Making the transition from a single pitch climber to a multi pitch climber can often seem a daunting one with intermediate stances and different rope techniques to master. This course covers everything you need to know to allow you to become a competent multi pitch climber.
Our MULTI PITCH ROCK CLIMBING courses are run in Snowdonia as it gives us access to some of the finest climbing in the uk and allows us to maximise our time on the rock.

Our MULTI PITCH ROCK CLIMBING course is aimed at the rock climber who would love to move their climbing up a level and master the world of multi pitch climbing. This course will focus on giving you the confidence and technical skills to master the different rope techniques that will allow you to climb safely and efficiently.
If you are a competent rock climber looking to master multi pitch routes then this is the perfect course for you.
PRE-REQUISITES
This course is aimed at rock climbers who already climb outside and are keen to progress onto multi pitch routes. If you are totally new to climbing then please look at our DISCOVER ROCK CLIMBING course.
CONTENT
We will meet on the first morning and come up with a plan for the days ahead that will fit in with everyone’s aims and aspirations and then head out to the crag for a days climbing
We will typically cover:
Planning your day taking into account the weather
Guidebooks, grades and route selection
Climbing equipment selection and it’s safe use.
Safe and efficient multi pitch belaying techniques
Belay building in a multi pitch setting
Stance management
Efficient rope management.
Multi pitch abseils.
Problem solving
What to do in an emergency.
WHAT EQUIPMENT DO I NEED?
A climbing harness and a climbing helmet would be useful if you have one, if not we are very happy to loan them out free of charge. A pair of rock shoes will be required for the course and if you have a climbing rack please feel free to bring it along.
In addition you will need equipment to allow you to enjoy a day outdoors.
If you have any climbing equipment of your own please feel free to bring it along.
We will provide all the ropes and technical equipment for the course.
WE WILL SEND OUT A COMPREHENSIVE KIT LIST UPON BOOKING.
