Course Overview
The Summer Mountain Leader Scheme is designed for people who would like to lead others through the hills and mountains of the UK and Ireland. The scheme will give you all the knowledge and skills needed to become a confident and professional outdoor Mountain Leader.
Mick is a Course Director for Mountain Training and works very closely with Leading Edge in Snowdonia for who he is a director for and these courses are run through them.
Leading Edge courses are run in a relaxed and friendly manner and they strive to make your course as informative as possible.

PRE-REQUISITES
You must be at least 18 years old to attend the Summer Mountain Leader Scheme with Leading Edge. You should also have at least a year’s worth of experience of mountain walking, have logged 20 mountain days and have an interest in leading groups in the mountains. You must be a member of a mountaineering council: BMC, Mountaineering Scotland or Mountaineering Ireland (you can join one when you register if you’re not already a member) Before you book onto a Leading Edge Summer Mountain Leader Training, please make sure you have registered on the scheme with Mountain Training

WHAT EQUIPMENT DO I NEED?
You will need equipment to allow you to operate in the hills safely and spend one night out wild camping.
