Course Overview
Snowdonia undoubtedly has some of the finest scrambling in the uk and is very accessible from the road making it the perfect venue to head to if you are looking to discover the mountains away from the paths and crowds. It has everything to offer from classic mountain walks to extreme rock climbing and scrambling fits into that middle ground where we can move through the mountains seeking out the more rocky and adventurous routes without ever feeling too intimidated. This course focuses on the easier scrambles that are referred to as grade one scrambles.
IS IT FOR ME?
This course will focus on giving you the confidence and technical skills to allow you to start your own adventures in the mountains tackling grade one scrambles on your own. If you are a keen hill walker who has always wanted to discover scrambling but never really known where to start then this course is for you.
PRE-REQUISITES
To get the most out of this course you will need to have had some summer hill walking experience. Some previous experience of scrambling would be useful but is not essential.
CONTENT
We will meet on the first morning and come up with a plan for the days ahead that will fit in with everyone’s aims and aspirations and then head out into the mountains for two days of scrambling.

Planning our day taking into account the mountain conditions
Guidebooks, grades and route selection
Navigating to and from the route.
Following the route on the mountain
Personal movement skills in ascent and descent
Appropriate equipment
WHAT EQUIPMENT DO I NEED?
You will need personal clothing, footwear and equipment to allow you to enjoy a day in the mountains.
